ATBEF lays the foundations for new governance with support from ABPF
From May 5 to 7, 2025, ATBEF held a large-scale technical workshop in Lomé, devoted to laying the foundations for the reform of its governance.
This strategic event brought together members of the Regional Executive Committees, the National Executive Committee, resource persons and ATBEF staff. The aim was to pave the way for more inclusive, efficient governance, in line with international standards of transparency and participation.
One of the highlights of the meeting was the intervention of a delegation from the Association Béninoise pour la Promotion de la Famille (ABPF), invited to share its successful experience in institutional reform. Composed of Mrs. Judith Maffon GBEHINTO, former President of the National Executive Committee, Mr. Ousmane KORA, President of the Nominations and Governance Committee, and Mr. Yusuffu AREMU, Governance Officer, the Beninese delegation presented the best practices adopted by ABPF to reinforce the democratic anchoring and efficiency of its decision-making bodies.
These exchanges enabled ATBEF participants to draw inspiration from proven models and identify concrete levers for transformation to be integrated into the reform process.
At the end of three days of rich, interactive work, an operational roadmap was drawn up and validated by all the volunteers present. It will mark out the next steps in the reform process, emphasizing the active participation of members, the redefinition of roles and responsibilities, and the strengthening of accountability mechanisms.
This initiative marks a decisive step in ATBEF's evolution, confirming its commitment to building a governance system that is stronger, more open and better adapted to today's challenges.
ATBEF, for a better life!
