As part of her mission to Togo, Ms Manuelle Hurwitz, Director of IPPF's Impact and Development Division, made a field visit to ATBEF from April 10 to 11, 2025. The mission was marked by rich exchanges and encouraging observations on the progress made in sexual and reproductive health.
On Thursday, April 10, Ms. Hurwitz began her visit by visiting ATBEF's key infrastructures: the main clinic in Lomé, the medical imaging center and the Center of Excellence for Youth-Centered Programs. The visit highlighted the association's commitment to quality, accessible care specifically adapted to the needs of adolescents and young people, in an inclusive, rights-based approach.
She also met with one of ATBEF's key partners, UNFPA, to discuss possible synergies in terms of advocacy, financing and innovation in sexual and reproductive health services.
The day continued with an important working session attended by ATBEF's Executive Committee and Governance, and representatives of the Mouvement d'Action des Jeunes (MAJ). These exchanges provided an opportunity to take stock of the challenges encountered, the responses provided by teams in the field and the prospects for strengthening the impact in the years to come.
On Friday April 11, the mission ended in Vogan with a visit to the mobile clinic, which is now in full operation. This innovative facility is a perfect illustration of ATBEF's determination to bring health services closer to remote, often marginalized communities, and to ensure equitable coverage throughout the territory.
This mission confirmed the soundness of ATBEF's actions and the alignment of its approach with IPPF's objectives. It provides strong encouragement to pursue efforts in favor of universal access to sexual and reproductive health.
ATBEF, for a better life!
