Promoting Positive Masculinity and Non-Violence: ATBEF Strengthens Staff Capacity
On July 30, 2025, ATBEF’s Centre of Excellence in Agoè Anomé hosted a one-day
training session on positive masculinity, gender equality, and anger management.
This initiative was supported by Carrefour International, through the technical
assistance of an advocacy and inclusion mandate volunteer.
The training brought together 21 participants, including 12 women, comprising
ATBEF staff members, volunteers, and a partner civil society organization working
with vulnerable populations.
During the session, participants deepened their understanding of masculinities, male
privilege, and the social norms that shape gender relations. They were also
sensitized to the importance of men’s active engagement in promoting gender
equality.
Additionally, the workshop helped strengthen participants’ practical skills in anger
management, a key component in promoting non-violent behavior and respectful
leadership in both personal and professional settings.
The participatory approach adopted during the session fostered strong ownership of
the content and led to the development of individual and collective commitments for
sustainable social change.
ATBEF, for a better life!
